Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MyBo ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the MyBo app and services.

MyBo is built around sensitive health and fitness information, so protecting it is core to the product. Private by default: your logs, photos, and health data are visible only to you unless you explicitly choose to share them.

1. Information you provide

  • Account details: first and last name, email address, phone number, sex, and date of birth. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is not stored by us in plain text.
  • Profile and goals you select during onboarding.
  • Health and fitness logs you create: meals (with macros/micros), workouts, sets, supplements and medications, and wellness entries.
  • Documents you upload, such as body-composition scans and lab/biomarker reports.
  • Photos and videos: meal photos, gym check-ins, and exercise videos.
  • Messages you send to our in-app assistant, Bo.

2. Information the Service creates

  • Form Scores and the pose/keypoint data derived from your exercise videos (stored so results can be recomputed and tracked over time).
  • Auto-detected meal/exercise classifications and values extracted from documents (OCR).
  • Streaks, trends, and analytics computed from your activity.

3. Information from connected sources

If you connect a wearable or health app — such as WHOOP, Apple Health, Google Fit / Health Connect, Garmin, Fitbit, or Oura — we receive the data you authorize, which may include recovery, sleep, heart rate, steps, and workout metrics. You choose what to connect and can disconnect at any time.

4. Device and usage data

To operate and improve the Service, we collect limited technical data such as app version, device and operating-system type, and diagnostic or crash information. We aim to minimize this and do not use it to build advertising profiles.

5. Health data is treated as sensitive

Much of what you store in MyBo is health-related and is treated as a special category of personal data. Where the law requires it, we process this data on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by changing your settings, disconnecting sources, or deleting the data or your account.

6. How we use your information

  • Provide and personalize the Service — including your Form Score, Bo, timeline, streaks, and trends;
  • Send the reminders and notifications you enable;
  • Enable features you turn on, such as sharing to the Feed or with a coach;
  • Keep the Service safe, secure, and working as intended;
  • Improve and develop features; and
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

7. AI and automated processing

To generate your Form Score we process exercise videos and pose data (on your device and/or on our servers) and store pose keypoints so scores can be recomputed and compared over time. Features like Bo, auto-detection, and OCR may use trusted third-party AI providers acting as our processors under contract. We do not use your private health content to train third-party public AI models without your consent.

8. How we share information

  • Service providers/processors (e.g., hosting, storage, AI, analytics) under confidentiality and data-protection terms, only to provide the Service;
  • People and coaches you choose to share with;
  • For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public; and
  • In a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), with notice and continued protection of your data.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Privacy controls: everything is private by default, with per-item sharing under your control;
  • Access, correct, export, or delete your data, and delete your account;
  • Withdraw consent and disconnect integrations at any time;
  • Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them.

10. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual content or your entire account at any time. After account deletion we delete or de-identify your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

11. Security

We use technical and organizational measures — such as encryption in transit and at rest and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

MyBo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Users between 13 and the age of majority should use MyBo only with a parent or guardian's consent. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date and provide notice in the app. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
